Grandpa was created to combat the elitist, competitive, and capitalist graphic design industry by equalizing access to graphic design education. Grandpa releases political art, hosts fundraisers, promote marginalized artists, and offers free, accessible design resources for all. Grandpa is currently occupying Unceeded Cowlitz Land (so-called “Portland, Oregon”) and was created by anarchist designer and educator, Kel Lauren (they/them).
This site and all art, resources, and affiliates are a space safe for all marginalized peoples, and is vehemently anfi-fascist, anti-police, anti-colonialist, and anti-imperialist. Hate or harassment will NOT be tolerated.
The 65 Black Lives Matter/ACAB posters (shown right) were designed, spray-painted, and screenprinted by Kel Lauren & Danny Murrietta (he/him) in Los Angeles, CA. in June 2020 in response to the police murdering of George Floyd. Together, we raised over $2,000 for The Bail Project & The Marsha P. Johnson Institute. All proceeds were donated. These are one of a kind and will not be reproduced.
All Cops Are Bastards. Abolish the State. Abolish Capitalism.
